Luton High School, The Stockwood Park Academy, Celebrates Mental Health Awareness Week with Tea, Talk, and Togetherness
At The Stockwood Park Academy, a leading Luton High School committed to student and staff wellbeing, we marked Mental Health Awareness Week with a special celebration centred around community, connection, and care. Taking place on May 12th, our event embraced this year's powerful theme: "There is Power in Community."
As a proud local school in Luton, we welcomed staff and guests to a heartfelt tea party, where the warmth of conversation blended beautifully with the aroma of homemade chai and a selection of delicious snacks and pastries. This relaxing atmosphere provided the perfect setting to strengthen bonds and promote mental wellbeing across our school.
Each attendee received a keepsake stirring spoon—a symbolic reminder of the importance of self-care and taking moments to prioritise mental health. Our dedicated sanctuary area offered a peaceful space to pause, reflect, and embrace mindfulness.
This uplifting event was a collaboration between our Wellbeing Collective and the Race Charter group, highlighting the powerful connection between belonging and wellbeing. As one of the good schools in Luton, we are proud to lead by example when it comes to creating a nurturing and inclusive school culture.
Events like these remind us that high schools in Luton can be more than just places of learning—they are vibrant hubs where people come together to grow, support one another, and build a stronger local community.
Let’s continue to uplift one another and build a future where every member of our Luton school community can thrive.
