Our 5th Annual Iftar: A Community Woven Together

Our 5th Annual Iftar: A Community Woven Together

On 6th March, we were proud to host our 5th Annual Iftar, welcoming over 500 guests which was our biggest gathering yet. More than the numbers, it was the warmth, connection and shared spirit in the room that made the evening so special.

Taking place during a season where Ramadan and Lent sit side by side, the event was a powerful reminder of the shared values of reflection, generosity and compassion that unite us all. At The Stockwood Park Academy, this sense of belonging is not reserved for special occasions, it is part of who we are every day.

This year’s Iftar was made even more meaningful by the incredible effort of our staff and students, who prepared almost all of the food from scratch including a much-loved homemade chai that quickly became a highlight of the evening. We are also grateful to our community partners for their generous contributions and continued support.

It was a pleasure to welcome students from Houstone School and colleagues from across Advantage Schools, reflecting the strength and reach of our wider community.

During the evening, we also took a moment to honour the memory of Sabia, a much-loved student. In a moving tribute, her father was presented with a framed piece of her GCSE artwork, a lasting symbol of her talent and the impact she had on our school. She remains a valued and remembered part of our community.

As this special tradition continues to grow, so too does its meaning. Guided by our values of Excellence, Responsibility and Compassion, the Iftar is a reflection of the community we are proud to build together every day.

We look forward to welcoming you again next year.
